Funny Business Competition

Funny Business Performer

Each year the Funny Business Competition takes place during the Liverpool Comedy Festival.

Participants from each Funny Business course run throughout the year are chosen to battle it out for this top accolade.

The winner bags themselves a 10 minute spot at a Rawhide Thursday night as well as a year long pass to Rawhide Comedy Club.

The 2008 Funny Business Final saw the eight best graduates from the Comedy Trust’s stand up course gathered to do battle for a slot at Rawhide Comedy Club.

All of the finalists were there on merit and all performed well. Special mentions went to Anne-Marie Morrison, a Canadian mother of three with a confident take on British life but there could only be one winner and that was Jake Mills whose set was packed with rock solid gags and stories and, with a few more gigs under his belt, has the potential to be a comic for years to come. The future looks bright.
