Liverpool Capital of Comedy

Young people from across Liverpool have been taking part in a project to explore their identity through the eyes of the city they live in. This National project entitled Portrait of a Nation is part of the 2008 Capital of Culture programme and is also being delivered with young people in 19 cities from across the UK. Young People working with The Comedy Trust have been exploring why Liverpool is renowned for its wit and sense of humour through stand up comedy, sketches and animation projects. The project will culminate with a 2 day showcase event involving all of the cities at St Georges Hall on 1st and 2nd December 2008.

Generation 21

The Comedy Trust have been delivering comedy and animation workshops in schools across the West derby area of Liverpool as part of the Culture Company's Generation 21 creative education project. Generation 21 invites Liverpool young people to work with architects, health professionals, teachers, designers & other creative collaborators to envision a new healthier Liverpool for the 21st century. The Comedy Trust project will culminate in a showcase performance in June 2008.
